Does he need to be a superhero to attract women?

How can a regular guy attract women?

Stan is an intelligent, attractive and kind man who wants to be in a committed relationship. His biggest challenge has been that he believes he's not interesting enough to attract women.

"I'm just an ordinary guy. I go to work every day. I like to go out to eat on weekends, dance a couple of nights a week and watch the Giants." He told me in a recent coaching session.

"What's so special about that? It seems like women are looking for someone who is much more unique. The only time I do anything out of the ordinary is when I travel on my vacations."

What it takes to impress a woman

He believes that other men win women by impressing them with their savoir faire, varied interests and endless travel adventures. And, while some women are seeking a man with non-stop interests, many are seeking a romantic and caring companion who they can count on day after day—someone like Stan.

This is what I told him: Try to attract women by being true to yourself. Remember that you have many facets. You're likely to be able to create a stronger connection if you convey those characteristics that are likely to connect on a heartfelt level.

The keys to creating attraction

Attraction occurs when the other person feels genuinely really good about being with you. Romance is generally about fun, flirtation and positive playful interactions, so try to project that part of you.

If you're smart, you could express it in a smart and businesslike manner. But, while it might impress others in a business setting, it's likely to disappoint a woman on a date. On the other hand, if you bring out your smart and flirty side you're setting the stage to create romantic rapport.

Connect by discovering commonalities, bridging differences and sharing stories. Exhibit your positive side and your sense of humor and then let the power of attraction work its magic.

Stan loves to engage in conversations. He enjoys asking open-ended questions, exchanging ideas and truly listening. He's sure to land a woman who will find him interesting.
